This morning third seed Windy City All Stars are battling the sixth seed Charm City All Stars. Last night Carolina barely eked out a win over Boston 77-75 and this morning it was Philly 102, Detroit 92. Windy City just topped Charm City 137-76. Windy City's Eva Dead left the bout with an injury. It is not known if she will be back for the 8:15 p.m. bout against Carolina. For an updated schedule go here. Derby in Dairyland: Gotham over Madison 138-70
Submitted by Jesse Russell on Fri, 2008-10-10 20:20. Sports | Mad Rollin Dolls|
The Dairyland Dolls fought hard in their home city against the Gotham All Stars. It was a bout where the penalty bench stayed nice and toasty for most of the game as both teams were often rolling at half strength. In the end the score was 138-70. The Dolls will take on Grand Raggidy at 1:15 p.m. tomorrow and Gotham will go on to play either Detroit or Philly (depending on who wins the 8 a.m. game). The Dolls are now 2-1 in their record against Gotham. I've updated the schedule based on this most recent game. |

Providence will battle Grand Raggidy in a battle for the bottom at 3 p.m. Next up is Cincinnati versus Charm City. I'll be sitting this one out as I go get some food, but will return to liveblogging as the Dairyland Dolls take on Gotham at 6:30 p.m. Relive our liveblog below the fold. |
Derby in Dairyland: Grand Raggidy falls to Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre have topped the Grand Raggidy All Stars 132-30. Boston will go on to play the number two seed Carolina at 8:15 p.m. Grand Raggidy will play a battle for the bottom bout against the loser of game three (Providence or Detroit). So we now have the evening bouts set. Madison versus Gotham at 6:30 p.m. should be a great grudge match. Madison beat Gotham in the Bronx in 2005 and this is the first time Gotham has been to Madtown. Derby in Dairyland: Madison tops Minnesota
Submitted by Jesse Russell on Fri, 2008-10-10 09:31. Sports | Mad Rollin Dolls|
Madison's Dairyland Dolls have topped the Minnesota Roller Girls with a score of 143-67. It was a slow moving bout with few major hits. It was explained to me earlier that because they are playing on a brand new track it is very slippery. As the weekend progresses scuff marks from the skates will build up on the track allowing for more traction and faster speeds. That will help the Dolls as the prepare to return at 6:30 p.m. to face down the Gotham Girls All Stars. Minnesota also returns for a loser bout facing off against either Charm City or Cincinnati. Can the number eight seed Dairyland Dolls beat the number one seed Gotham Girls? Possibly. Click here to read more. |

I was recently introduced to the manga/anime called Death Note at this year's Geek.Kon on the University of Wisconsin campus. The story, created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata, follows Light Yagami who finds a journal that he discovers kills anyone whose name he writes within the pages. He uses the "Death Note" to try and rid the world of crime and corruption. Soon the Spider-Man maxim of "With great power comes great responsibility" comes into play as Light begins using the book to not just kill criminals and the corrupt, but also anyone who gets in the way of him cleansing the world. Enter the genius and eccentric detective only known as "L" who makes it his mission to stop Light. The two are equally cunning so they quickly become rivals. Click here to read more. |
